Like most of the programs I write, the decision to create this came out of an actual need for a simple program which would run on my N97 and enable me to quickly convert between binary, hexadecimal (hex) and decimal. I had also wanted to learn how to produce a program for the Symbian operating system as well. As it turns out the Symbian C++ language is pretty hard to pick up quickly, even with a solid backing in standard C++. This program was therefore constructed in Flash Lite (Actionscript 2). And will run on any phone that supports the Flash Lite player (Most new Nokia N series phones come with it preinstalled.

There are a number of versions for different phones, all are free. The full version is the N95 version however there is a cut down version of the app for smaller screens such as the N95.

Compatibility

As the app is written in Flash Lite, it will run on any phone with the player installed, and is optimised for touch screen phones

This comes as standard with the latest Nokia N series phone such as N80 N95 N97 N87 and many others.

There is also an HTML version that can be run off the web or saved as a bookmark, and a standalone exe version for windows.

How to use

The current number mode is displayed below the screen. Enter a number and then click the new number system you wish to convert to, and the number will be converted.

The 'c' button clears the screen and the back arrow button deletes the last number off the screen.

Download

To download a version for your phone please see the downloads page.
